According to new research, more teens are categorizing themselves with non-traditional labels of gender like gender-fluid or transgender.
Published recently in Pediatrics, the official American Academy of Pediatrics journal, the studies proved that almost 3 percent of Minnesota teenagers didn’t identify with traditional labels like “girl’ or “boy”.
That figure is higher than scientists expected. A UCLA research from Jan. of 2017 made an estimation that 0.7 percent of teenagers identified as transgender.
The research discovered that students who are transgender and/or gender-nonconforming reported substantially lower rates of preventive health check-ups, poorer health, and an increased amount of nurse office visits than cisgenders.
While the amount of transgender teenagers was greater than scientists expected, the new stats underscore how teens embrace relativism similar to the remainder of our culture.
As the percentage of teenagers who do not accept traditional gender norms increases, how is it possible to reconcile the messages heard from Scripture and society?
If you think the Bible is the truth from God, you’ll be faced with a lot of pressure as time moves ahead to either abandon all of your convictions or withhold any compassion concerning transgender factors.
That is why we need more folks who’ll speak the truth in a loving manner (Eph. 4:15).
Paul (apostle) predicted that times like this would arrive:
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” (2 Tim. 4:3-4).
Here is the truth:
Scripture suggests that we dress in such a way which reflects who the Creator made us: “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.” (Deut. 22:5).
All throughout Christ’s ministry, he showed compassion to those disregarded by society. In regard to children, He commanded the disciples to allow them to come to Him (Matt. 19:14). Also, He revealed that children are God’s priority, making note that their angels are in frequent communication with God. (Matt.18:1).
I think Christ wants us to assist transgenders in understanding that He loves them and has a desire for them to be who the Father created them to be – when he created them at birth.
Christ would not abandon the truth, nor would Jesus withhold his compassion and love. Therefore, we, as Christians should not either.
As Christians the best thing we can do is speak the truth in a loving manner to a culture who is confused.
