Promoting Education

"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."
Martin Luther King, Jr.

We are considering making the world a better place, we cannot afford to ignore education. We need to help those children who do not have the opportunity to receive an education.

Education is the best way to remove the barriers of poverty and help those less fortunate gain the skills they need to better their lives.

● According to UNICEF, some 13 percent of children ages 7 to 18 years in developing countries have never attended school. This rate is 32 percent among girls in sub-Saharan Africa (27 percent of boys) and 33 percent of rural children in the Middle East and North Africa.
● Education is perhaps a child’s strongest barrier against poverty, especially for girls. Educated girls are likely to marry later and have healthier children. They are more productive at home and better paid in the workplace.
● Kids who are educated are better able to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS and more able to participate in decision-making at all levels.

Through our U.S.-based partnership with Lamp & Light Publishers Inc. we impact thousands of lives through our educational work. We use their materials for the free Bible Correspondence Courses in Nigeria and other West African countries. Thanks to their partnership, we have been able to reach out to thousands of people. At present, more than four thousand people are receiving the benefit of this program.

In addition to our partnership with Lamp & Light Publishers Inc, established by the late Bro. Maurice Martin of Hagerstown, Maryland, U.S.A., we promote education among the less privileged and orphans by, providing educational materials including books, and other school materials. In 2017 alone, we gave away about three thousand school supplies. This donation of books and school materials gave these orphans and less privileged students the encouragement and emotional support they needed to face life challenges.

Want to increase your impact on these suffering children?

Thanks for your partnership and generous support as you help these beautiful children in learning love and to be loved.

“Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.”
